The atelier
Thirty years of creativity, research, tradition and innovation
Clara Bertoli and Giulia Scalvini opted for the elegance of the French language when they chose a name for their business which creates the finest home accessories Made in Italy.
Since 1990 Maison Claire has made a mission of style, elegance and Italian excellence with a passion and loving care typical of all they undertake.
Their adventure took off from their deep, strong connection with the history and traditions of excellence in their birthplace, the Valsesia, which has long been the undisputed homeland of quality textiles and fibres.
Valsesia is the natural birthplace of the most sought after yarns and weaves, the finest wools, the richest cashmere and the most steadfast artisan traditions, which have led a great many local firms to become distinguished world leaders.
Love for textiles and noble weaves, timeless elegance and a constant, passionate quest for excellence are the roots from which the unique character of Maison Claire creations has grown.

Packaging takes on fundamental importance: commencing with the delicate perfume of roses, that unmistakable touch of “Maison Claire style” used during pressing; each item is wrapped in elegant tissue paper, placed in beautiful white boxes with the logo cold-printed on it and tied with a rich satin Maison Claire ribbon, complete with a little brochure to guide the user to perfect maintenance of the product while also offering practical advice on how to deal with stains.

Maison Claire
Our History

From the second half of the 80s, Giulia Scalvini was one of the creative designers at Rakam, the well-known Italian embroidery magazine published by the Rusconi Group.
On the back of her success with Rakam, many readers having written to the Editor in order to purchase the creations she proposed, Giulia decided to design her own home collection, presenting it for the first time at the Macef show in Milan. She soon followed this with more shows such as Pitti in Florence, Milan’s Salone del Mobile, the Salon des Meubles at Paris’s Porte de Versailles, and Abitare il Tempo in Verona.
During the early years of the 21st century, a period of continuous expansion, Maison Claire took part in various international shows in France, Germany, Russia, the Emirates, Japan and Singapore, thus creating awareness of their products around the world.
The growth of their business is exponential during this time and having gained international recognition, they decided to move to a brand new, 1250 square-metre facility in Doccio, Quarona.
In recent years, Maison Claire has become an international market leader, from Asia to America, Europe and Africa, entering high end fashion boutiques and working on important projects partnering top architectural practices, al the time developing into a stronghold of Authentic Luxury Craftsmanship Made in Italy.
Today the enthusiastic response to Clara and Giulia’s creativity and their all-female team brings certain knowledge that they will continue to make us dream and discover new worlds and new collections.
